Lip Synch Video - Florence and the Machine

We chose 'You've Got The Love' for our video because out of the choices we were given we liked this song the best. We are also all fans of Florence and like her music so we knew we would enjoy filming it. I also thought that it would be an easy video to create a lip-synching music video to as it is a very imaginative song.
We found it easy to lip synch to this song because we already knew the words and we had listened to the song many times before. The people we chose to lip-synch and dance in the video were more confident with being infront of a camera so they found it much easier than some of the other people in the group.
I think that our shots reflected real life music videos because we used a lot of long shots to set the scene and so that you could see all the actors in the shot. We also used mid shots so that you could focus on one person but also be able to follow them dancing and moving around more easier.
We used low camera angles to make the people seem more important and bigger and make them stand out, this is similiar to other music videos. We also used eye-line angles so that the person could look straight into the camera and make it more personal.
I think our sequence was typical of music videos because we used different shots and were able to synchronise the lip synching with the clips easily to allow it to all blend together and give it continuity.
Next time I think that we should plan our video and scenes more by making a story board, as this time we basically just went out and filmed it. I would also add more colour, transitions and movement if we did it again as I don't think it is as interesting as it should be. Also I would get more people to be in the video so the shots don't seem as empty and we could create the image of an audience or a big crowd of people, this would emphasise the love in the video.
